Tweetparty Privacy Policy
Tweetparty collects minimal personal information for the purpose of account creation and sending direct messages to your groups. Tweetparty will never share, distribute or sell your information to any thrid party (except to twitter).

Tweetparty is not responsible for the content of the direct messages sent.

Your twitter information
Tweetparty will store the following information in our databases:

your twitter login information with the password encrypted. This is needed so we can send your groups direct messages
your twitter friends

We do not store any direct messages, status updates or anything else. We make every effort to keep your information safe and secure.

Privacy Policy Updates
If any major updates are made to the Privacy Policy we will post the new policy.

Login using your twitter account
Login using your existing twitter account each time you visit tweetparty.

Account update
Each time you login your friend list will be updated. This may take a few seconds, especially if your popular.

Create your groups
You can create as many groups as you would like. The group name is what you place in your direct message. For example, to send a message to group name travelbuddies you would place #travelbuddies in your message.

Make the party
On the left list is all of your friends, the right is people already in the group. Drag friends to the right to add them, and to the left to remove them. Once your done. click the update button. These are the people that the message will be sent to.

Message on Twitter
Now on twitter send your friend tweetparty a message with the group name and your direct message will be sent to each member of the group.

What is tweetparty?
tweetparty lets you organize your twitter friends into parties and send direct messages to them.

How is this service better than other similar ones?
With tweetparty, when you login all of the people you are following are download to tweetparty. You can then create as many groups as you would like (ie. work, friends) and select the friends you would like in each group creating the party. Then through twitter you can send a direct message to any party - no setting up other twitter accounts.

How do you send a message to a group?
In order to send a group a message send a direct message to your friend tweetparty on twitter with what you would like the message to say. For example:
#roommates Rent cheques are due in a few days.

This will send the message Rent cheques are due in a few days to all members of the group roommates. Make sure put the # before the group name.

If you're sending a message to Twitter via SMS or IM or the web update box, remember to add d tweetparty before your note text to indicate that it's a direct message. For example:
d tweetparty #family Almost ready for our family vacation - can't wait!

This will send the message Almost ready for our family vacation - can't wait! to all members of the group family

When is my twitter information updated on your site?
Everytime you login we will re-encrypt your password and store it. As well your twitter friends are downloaded everytime you login. To read about the information we store plesae read the privacy policy.

How long will it take for my group message to be delivered?
This relies on the twitter API. At the time of launch only 20 API requests per hour are allowed. Tweetparty will check for new direct messages every 3 minutes and will send up to 20 messages to groups. This process repeats every 3 minutes, however we are trying to get a higher rate limit through Twitter.

What is the availability of your site?
Since the majority of the functionality of tweetparty relies on the twitter api you may experiance times where things aren't working as expected.

My group messages aren't being sent - what's up?
First make sure that you have tweetparty as a friend on twitter. Second, your messages may take a few minutes to be sent - this is a limitation of the twitter api rate limit. Third, maybe something is busted, so send us an email and we'll see what we can find out.

Can I get a listing of my groups to my mobile device?
If you forget the groups you setup simply send #getgroups as a message to your friend tweetparty and we'll send you a direct message with all of your group names.

How can I update my friend list?
From your my groups screen look for the re-sync your twitter friends link.
